This 1957 Ford Thunderbird has had a high quality photo documented ground-up restoration and is exquisitely done with straight body panels, impressive fits, good paint, nice chrome, attractive interior and an impressively detailed engine compartment with the almost-obligatory engine dress up kit on the 245hp 312 cubic inch Thunderbird V-8 engine. The Blue Oval recognized its oversight 45 years later in 2002 with the "new" Thunderbird, an updated but still instantly recognizable 2-seat T-bird, an acknowledgment of the original two-seat Thunderbirds' importance and appeal. Ford, inexplicably to some but amply rewarded by vastly increased production numbers, replaced the two-seat T-bird in 1958. '55-'57 two-seat Thunderbirds have an enduring value and abundant tours, events and shows where they can strut their stuff. The body was extensively redesigned with new for '57 thin, canted tailfins and an extended rear deck with room for an enclosed spare tire. There were a variety of engines, all of them adapted to pulling off the line with alacrity, a situation in which the Thunderbird delighted. Ford's 1957 Thunderbird approaches perfection.
